canadian chair shituation

What was that canadian chairlift regulation # thing? We've got to speed up this access issue. We (chair-riding snowskaters) all know snowskating is no more dangerous than any other device people are using to get down the hill. Been at this too long now to wait for this sport to take off or not. BS is BS. We need a lawyer to deal with this type of bs. Probably get someone to rep us for free. I'm tired of getting f'd around for no reason other than bs. The big companies, all but a few, have abandoned snowskates, so there of no use to us. Let's get this bs settled, or it may never get better (access). Snowskates by snowskater companies sounds like a place too start. You guys must have lawyers, Canadian companies? Please help sort out this crap before we're all 6 feet under, or worse, riding snowboards. please forward this post to appropriate companies (Canadian ideally)

I feel the best thing we can do is just keep pushing these places HARD. If you think like one of these asses that run these hills......... its probably not worth going through the hassle and issues surrounding insurance ect when there are only a couple snowskaters out there. Just look at how snowboarding progressed, first they weren't allowed on hills, then came the day where they were hounding the places in the hundreds or more which is where this needs to go. The market will determine the environment. Only when it seems to be in the best interest ($) of the hills will we be free to go wherever we want. But polite persistence seems to be my weapon of choice and i have left a swath of converts in my wake. It will take time. lawyers? free? isnt that an oxymoron?

yehhh its bs how some mountains won't let you ride lifts lol.... alot of mountains wont let u on lift if its old cuz old lifts dont slow down at the top and they think its a safety issue if you walk off it. if they tell you u cant use lift for that reason just tell them you will ride your snowskate off (kinda do a "caveman" to get off lift)

I think there was another topic about this.... I think an etiquette or code of conduct that we can all try to stick to would help people take us more seriously like (example) push the board to the lift and pick it up just before you sit down, RIDE it off the lift, and NO SHABBY LEASHES. ect.

Snowboards took off a lot faster. My 9th year and i hardly see any snowskates that don't belong too me. Hear what you're saying about $ but I'm not seeing this take off too quick. Lot's of lone wolves on snowskates who are one poser away from getting kicked off the hill. Snow scoots are recognized i think, bs. Most people don't even know snowskates exist, as I'm sure you here every time you ride. Someone needs too get snowskates on TV, nothing exists if it's not represented on TV. Thanks to the absolute lack of advertising that the big companies have had. I've never seen a print add for a snowskate in any mag, and I've looked for them believe me. Shouldn't need #'s. Wheelchair dudes, amputees, they are few in #s but they are allowed. I've got them all at my hill, even blind people come out with guides.

ralston ran a half pager in last seasons transworld photo annual. the reason snowskating is stale is because everybody keeps buying libs. a company who puts nothing into snowskating besides a few boards a year. maybe two of you involved in this forum has actually bought a skate off of me. ralston has spent close to $100,000 to get where we are and we are still light years from where we need to be. if you want to see snating grow invest in companies who will reinvest into the scene.

There is no scene, that's the problem. I've tried for years to get people into this thing, snowboarders are happy with their rut. They don't want to look like kooks on snowskates, when they can look slick on their snowboards instead. Don't want to rain on your parade ralston, but optimism about snowskating's future is not my strong point. I'm seeing it going the way of the snow-scoot. I'd like to try your boards though, you should make a standard 33 board. Have a toronto but I find it too big for hard packed, 33 works for me. I promote snowskates at every opportunity. Kids always asking me where to get boards, usually tell em ebay. More than happy to promote smaller company boards. Can't see little guys (or me) riding your 36-41 though or promote boards I've never rode. Someone hooks me up with a 33 that works, I could move a few a year probably. I'm happy with my rossi's, that's the standard i measure other boards against. Is there no canadian snowskate company?

short skate will be available by feb. lack of smaller skates is a huge problem which i am working on fixing. this seasons sales are proof that snowskating is back on the rise. we have already doubled last seasons numbers. lots of skates are in quebec waiting for santa to deliver so next week will be a different story in canada.

Referral deal or something, hell i'd be happy with a free hoodie or something lol. Have to buy online or is someone reping in ontario or quebec.

seriously, give me that regulation #. Saw it somewhere on here. Been empowered by yet another hill booting me after 3 years of season pass holding. I'm pissed and i want to kill this bs. Quebec hills are all insured by the same company. Just need to bust some balls and kiss some ass. Snow-scoots are recognized so shouldn't be a big deal. Just gotta get squeaky, I'm getting old and impatient and more determined to f this s up... link me to that post Jordan please. I'm ready to do some squeaking. There's enough bs in the world, me want full lift access. Let's make this happen. I've dealt with hill owners, managers, f 'em all. Go right over their pea brains to the source of the problem. Then they can chose to be idiots if they want, but no more chair regulation excuse. F the back of the bus

It's getting crazy here, people just love us even the lifties, I think it is not about the sizes of the board but more about the number of riders, most boards are now really good around the 40", it makes sense we also need smaller ones for shorter people and kids. I had an interesting discussion yesterday about it. The sport needs to get noticed but I hope it will never become as popular as snowboarding, we need more riders anyway and still improve the equipment, shoes, leashes and please PLEASE, have STANDARD INSERTS! the day we can all swap boards with trucks and subs easily from one company to the other this will help.
