I'd say a lot of us do, but it's all a matter of having that friend with a boat. Did a lot of wakeskating when I had a pull, but that ship sailed. Nice parallels between wakeskating and snowskating. Wakeskaters are further in their progression, but then again, they can ride year-round (if in FL).

lets say a person has access to a fast flowing stream/river. Could a guy string a rope across? or would the water have to be moving way too fast, if so would a bigger board help? Ive never done it but i am intrigued. Whats the construction on those like? what are they made of ect? looks super fun.

I figured some of you did I also love to wakeskate. That is when my crappy boat wants to run. And I have tried it i'n a river didn't work well with the skate but the surf board and the right rapid is a blast.

With the river, some folks have been using the banshee bungee cord to give the appropriate velocity. Most of the footage has been with winches. Most people can find a small retention pond or similar for that. Go to wakeskating.com. Tons of info on their forum.

I have been using a banshee bungee in the river with a basic CWB wakeskate and it works great. My only issue is that my bungee only lasted about a year. They wear out pretty fast. Replacing them every year is kind of spendy.

Not to mention dangerous when a bungee 'expires'. I wakeskate when I get boat access but not too often. Now if I get access I usually opt for wakesurfing.

Right on! I haven't wakeboarded since I tried a wakeskate about 7 years ago. I had to buy one immediately...

wakeskating is awesome, no more access to a boat this summer unfortunately and the cablepark is pretty far away (and kind of crap too), I miss the Texas ski ranch!

did get to finally wake surf this summer. was a blast but don't think I will ever be able to afford a surf boat. We were on a malibu 24/7 which I guess run 70-90k.
