A guest brought one up to Baldface. He was still waiting to get the magnets...

good response Jesse, yea it seems like some binding free riders are experimenting with magnets to give them more control off of big hits. To be fair riders like Wolle are launching massive drops but I would rather not hear about something like magnets being the reason that they landed those drops.

now we will have to take peoples word for it if they were or were not using magnets. The magnet thing kinda turns me off a bit.  SO...... what strength of magnetism do you have to get before it is considered a "binding"?
sorry for the thread jacking... so heres a pic from one of my annual winter road journeys through the manitoba wilderness...

The Magnatron flat deck snowskate was in production back in 1995.  I still have some.  They remind me of riding a mountain bike with clip in peddles.  It was hard to adjust your feet.  You have to lift one side of your foot at a time.

Do you have any literature from 95? I remember thinking they were kooky in 2002, I know they made skateboards earlier on but I didn't know they made a snowskate.

Magnets are akin to the noboard strap in my eyes, they might help people transition into bindingless riding but you're still attached to the board. Jeremy and his crew kill it and they are magnet free.

That was a sick powsurf session.
The Techno-nerd part of me likes the idea of magnets, but the purist side of me keeps that in check.
Can't wait for it to snow so we can all go ride on our favorite binding free devices.

nope no literature, just some old skates and a pair of shoes. There is probably one museum piece.
