I was just recently watching NoW/Here and I must admit that it wasn't nearly as impressive as it was when I didn't know about the magnets. You can really see the advantage, he doesn't have to pop off the hits to make the sub stick to his feet. I have ordered this seasons absinth film even though I know he'll have the magnets on. should get it in a few days, suppose to have a bunch of powsurfing.

I did like watching wolle's parts. Since i found out about the magnets tho i've gone back and watched it and it was pretty easy to tell he had them. 3 shots in particular stood out. In my opinion this is like an olympic runner not only taking roids but doing the race on rollerblades... Good for you Roll Eyes. I can still imagine how hard it must be but its just not the same. That being said i am looking forward to watching his part. Magnets... (sigh).

Edit: this subject seems to have highjacked this thread. Time for it's own?

Heard about the magnets from a couple people last year and wasn't so sure it was true. Seems to be, kind of a let down. I can't say much though as I use a rope from time to time. Wonder if he was using magnets as far back as that first no hand 360 he did a couple years back or was last season the first year for it?

This topic has taken over the "post pictures here" thread. So i thought i would start it's own. Not sure how to move related posts here but i'm sure Jordan can hook it up. I don't know how strong they are but in any strength, it's cheating. Yes you can do bigger drops, spin more ect. You have not seen surfers and skateboarders use this technology so why should any snowskaters powsurfers do it. When i found out about wolle using magnets it was like my girl had cheated on me. What a let down. That being said it did allow us to dream and reach for the goal of riding at that level...and some might have reached it. Anyway bottom line magnets suck. magnapowsurfing magazine.. coming soon.  Roll Eyes

I think what was weird was not knowing. Nearls, you guys aren't hiding your ropes, its in plain view. when Cholo did that 360 in the vid is was all on the table as far as what was going on. If wolle made it known that he was using these tools to do the bigger stuff it wouldn't have been as big of a deal. well see what its like to watch the new vid, should get here today, knowing about the magnets.

i agree mark. Its different to say "look what i can do with magnets" and another to not say anything at all when you know that thousands of people think there is nothing holding you to the board. Its kinda deceitful. I think the biggest loss is not to the snowskaters ego but to the whole bindingless scene. There were strappers actually changing their mind about bindingless riding because of the crazy stuff wolle was doing, now they will attribute it all to magnets. Any bindingless progression wolle has made seems to be getting reversed by the magnet thing. At least thats the tone i hear from mainstream binder crews. Kinda sad. Or maybe there is a bright side, this may bring more attention to others willing to step it up a notch.

just saw wolle's segment. Pretty sick really. wish we knew for sure what the deal was. I know some of will see it soon so post up what you think. He busted himself up pretty good on his pow surf and they showed an xray of his knee with the title, "season ender" I had heard he had a bad crash.

Having the board unattached has some hazards, especially if it still has edges. Crashing at high speed with a guillotine strapped to your leg can suck. I wear the brain bucket for a reason, if the board dents your helmet....

Magnets defeat the entire purpose.  It is just snowboarding with a different style of bindings.

how do you feel about the tow in plus foot straps on surfboards for riding massive waves? I kinda compare the too when I think about wolle.
