Because you have to RIDE to know what works we have built a backcountry research station to insure every skate we build has been thoroughly tested.

Do you accept internships? I don't see the lab and I hope it's Wi-Fi enabled ;-) looks like a good location, I wish we had so much snow, it's starting slowly.

Awesome! We'll have to make it down soon. What is your snow like, we were supposed to get dumped on but it's looking like rain.

its been good even great. I know its going to get warmer with this next batch of storms. that hoar frost is a bummer now that we are getting more snow. looks like the avi danger is going to be kinda high for a bit.

the igloo maker is called IceBox. they have been around for at least 10 or so years. the plastic material is bomber and the workings and adjustments seem to be really well thought out albeit a bit confusing sometimes. The jig will be 7,8,9,10 and 11 foot diameter igloos. we did the 9 which will sleep three to four. This is the second igloo I've made and it was a lot easier after doing it once. They run about 170.00

Sweet shack! I guess after you build it once it should last most of the season with minor maintenance.

thanks, yea it should last the season. we built it with sugar snow which requires slower packing for the blocks but is stronger then wetter snow. We supplied it with bags and pads on tue and planned on sleeping in it wed night then the rains hit so now our sleepover date is new years eve! Lows at the igloo will be 14 so will be a good test of its warmth.

so we hiked out friday afternoon to retrieve some gear that we left in the igloo. There were some sleeping pads and a powder surf so not anything we wanted to leave. Dug massive whole/tunnel to get in only to find too squat to sleep in. Pulled out the gear and headed for a backup spot to sleep. Fresh snow and fresh turns all day saturday. short vid of the action.
