If ur a beginner, I would say go for the 41 standard + it's more stable on landings than a shorter sub when ur going down the runs. If u don't go up to the mountain resorts and just care about doing skateboard like tricks go for the 36" or in that case u can buy a Ambition or Icon, cheaper but they're flat single decks.

it really depends on your size and what you are looking to do.  most of the team is switching to the 36 for normal shredding.  the 41 is great and definitely raised the bar in designs back in the day but it seems like the times are changing in the park and the new generation wants to get more tech.  the 36 sub is a bit wider on the waist than the 41 and has a super short sidecut and less taper.  a little looser but flatbases easily for setting up stunts.  dont forget camber for extra pop.  it handles the crud surprisingly well for its size.  i would say if you plan on riding like a skateboarder and are 6ft or shorter than check out the 36,  if you want to ride like a snowboarder or longboarder than get the 41.  if you really want to carve get the 34" topdeck on the 41" blade.  i will get some new pictures on the website later on.

Ralston,

What is the truckbase length on ur 36" subs? Is the 299 price going to be for both sizes?

truckbase is 14" X 1.5".  $299 is the price for the 36" and 41".

I've been waiting to buy the 41" for awhile now. I noticed it is available on your website, does that mean you are starting to make them again? Or will there still be a bit of delay?
sorry for the threadjack lol

Hi there,

I would say Ralston is right for the agility of smaller subs for doing tricks, but not 100% right. I can do tricks and slides and ride like a skateboard on my 43" lib... But remember, I am 6 feet tall. I would say under that size, that smaller would be better (39 ish)... But I am not a pro and do not test boards everyday. That is how I feel but for banana boards, maybe camber boards do react better on smaller sizes when doing tricks...

should have topdecks for 41's any day.  have both subs, trucks, grip anf 34" topdecks available.  and yan, sure you can do tricks on bigger boards but the consistency is not there.  goblin for example can go 9 for 10 kickflips on a skateboard but has been like 4 for 10 on a snowskate.  this is true for just about anybody who can do flip tricks.  as soon as the crew dialed in the smaller board the ollies got higher and the consistency improved,  the smaller size has been a non issue.

Awesome thanks. How big is the top deck on the 41"? I'm a longboarder and am sort of used to longer decks.. Just wondering

36"X8.75"  topdeck on the 41" sub  17" truckbase.  34"X8.5 topdeck on the 36" sub 14" truckbase.

Well, both have their advantages and disadvantages, depends on what u want to do. WTF, Alan rides for Ambition and it's a flatdeck. Show a little courtesy man, after all snowskating is 2 worlds combined.

I understand Sabbath, but come on Flatdecking is more adapted for urban snowskating, dont flame them. Of course you can bideck in the city but its rough for the boards. Anyway, if you want to be respected please respect others, we need to support all our follow snowskaters whatever they ride

Thanks Yan,
Different boards work better in different conditions and for different types of riding. If it snows an inch in town I am not going to bideck when I can grab a single deck and ride no problem, snowskating is a quiver activity, if you don't have a board suited to the conditions you are either going to suffer or you're not going out riding. Same argument with small vs. big bidecks, yes smaller bidecks are better for tech, if you only do tech that is fantastic, but tech is only one aspect and everyone has a different preference. Smaller boards flip easier, bigger boards are more stable, buoyant have more effective edge. Pick what works best for what you're riding.
