Hey,

Just started snowskating this year, and I have been out 5 times so far.  I have been to 4 seperate resorts, and I am still the only snowskater I have ever seen.  I totally don't mind riding by myself and i have also recently converted a snowboarder who i can't wait to ride with.  There are a few more people definately in the works.   It is really interesting to see how many people think it is absolutely awesome.  It's like they think your nuts and or they might actually really want to try it.  Anyhow, bottom line is snowskating is absolutely addictive and it is ridiculously fun in all aspects.

How many other snowskaters do you see while at the resort for the day?  And where are you from?

I am in Calgary, and i am 0 for 5

there's four in our crew and probably four to five others who skate the mountain on occasion. Most of the time we don't see anyone and if we do see someone we don't know they are just messing around on a burton or m6 crap board.

We have 6 full time skaters there's about 6 others that ride occasionally as a good day there will be 8 people on the hill this didn't happen over night. I am slowly coverting people once they start it's hard to stop. Also we're on the east coast so the condition are always just packed groomed snow so people get bored snowboarding or skiing quickly. Also the people asking you what is tht never stops. I get tht ? Every day every run

Crown -

Keep the faith.  Even today I was the only snowskater on the mountain but, the local scene is growing really fast.  Because people see it and get interested.

We did a demo on Saturday at 49 degrees North in Washington. It was demo days, we had a booth set up.....so we saw plenty of snowskaters!(testing our boards)
Went well, everyone was stoked!
Hardest part was talking snowboarders into testing them out.

We're 5 in my crew of skaters that will bomb bigger hills, there's probably another dozen or so in Montreal that hike the tiny Mount-Royal and carve through the trees and carve through the snakeruns made by the city snowshoers.

I live in St. Cloud, MN., land of the flat ski resorts Cry
Most times I am the only one out but my son has his own skate this year so that will change some. I have only ever seen one other skater on the hill and it was weird 'cause he didn't even want to talk about it or anything, just kinda walked away. I am not that old and out of touch...............I think.

You will see as many snowskaters as you recruit. Bring an extra board. That old cast off you learned on. Give 'em one hit and if their eyes are open their feet will follow.

I live in Duluth, MN, and ride at spirit mountain daily..
I've only ever seen 1 other person in 10 years there..

And apparently, im totally out of the game, carving down the hill on my 2001 junkyard.

I'm totally in awe right now of all energy in this sport!

it was big when it first came out. Mostly singles but our ski hill had a huge snowskate park in the village with lights and music and tons of little kids. this was around 99, 00. I would say now there are some great boards and something for everyone. There is no way to tell what it will be as time goes on......and does it matter? If someone told you in five years you would still be riding alone what would you do?

The same thing you would do Chiller. Ride test / ride test / post here / ride test / beer beer / ride.  Regardless of what happens that is most likely what we will all do.
