The big challenge I've found is finding a boot that has a zero-drop heel-toe differential (like most skate shoes), minimal stack height (distance between ground and your foot) for feel, waterproof, nice wide toe-box (unlike my current vans), flexible, and keeps the snow out.

These are great on the stack height, differential, toe box, and flex, but they are spendy.  http://www.vivobarefoot.com/us/mens/off-road-hi-mens-13.html

Found a page with some pics of different versions of icos. Why wont they just make the ico again? Should we start a petition?    http://www.coroflot.com/schang2/Vans-AWT-Footwear/2?school_name=Art+Center+College+of+Design&#scroll

first impressions about my new nikes are very positive.

grip is ok, waterproof also ok and they are definitely warmer than the nike woodside I was using before.

probably the best snowskate shoe I ever had.
